A Letter from Our Director
Greetings!
It gives us great pleasure to introduce you to our area's premier Cinema arts showcase, The Sacramento International Film Festival.
Festival organizers have years of experience, dating back to the Sacramento Festival of Cinema and other outstanding events. Past highlights include fantastic presentations by Industrial Light and Magic (Star Wars, E.T.) and many industry guests like Academy award winners John Daly (Terminator and Platoon) and director Vicky Jenson, (Shrek and Shark's Tale).
This year continues the tradition of excellence with the premiere of over 100 new films from around the world. As we welcome the world's brightest and best filmmakers, we also offer more exciting features like our Youth, Latino and African American Film Showcases as well as the incomparable local film showcase "NorCal All-Stars".
Over the years, Festival organizers have featured many film luminaries, started many local film careers and inspired many 'copycat' programs. Our mission is to build the film arts community in our region, and realize Sacramento as a first class city to create and appreciate Cinema art. As the premier event of its kind, we are proud to offer this first class Festival in celebration of Cinema arts. Last year, we attracted over 5,000 guests to celebrate Cinema in Sacramento. To continue the growth of this exciting event, we need your help. Together we have the power to build a local film festival that will be the pride of our community for years to come.
